RE: Pics of new to us camper

Very nice. Looks like our camper except our couch is turned so it faces the door. Our camper doesnt have a slide either but we had a pop up before so it still seems huge to us. Enjoy!!

RE: Good weekend camping,Got Exciting!

Glad you all were safe. We were camping in Front Royal VA this weekend and both Fri and Sat night we had storms with high winds and hail! This weather is so crazy.

RE: Can't run A/C and Microwave at same time

For under $20 you can buy a plug in AC line monitor. Plug it into a visible wall outlet and check the voltage you are getting IN your RV. You may be starting with inadequate voltage. Many parks have inadequate voltage to carry summer demands. Sidney That is good to know. My microwave kept kicking the breaker this weekend also. Maybe it was just like you said about many parks having inadequate voltage. Everyone had AC's hammering this weekend because it was so hot here in Maryland.

Does anyone here not have a tub surround?

Just curious because our Used TT we bought does not have one.

RE: Have a question....please look:

Well we got the camper used from a dealer. The previous owners took great care of it. It is 4 years old. I would assume they used the shower. I just never remember seeing a unit with no tub surround. Strange.

RE: Have a question....please look:

First thing I'd do is get the duct tape off the thrown, and agree with outdoorsmand, you can go to lowes and get that whit textured stuff (a plastic product)and glue it up. I would also wait to see how the existing product works. You might find it works good enough for now. JM2Cents Bill Haa haa very funny....the duct tape is gone now. This is a pic from the dealer that I downloaded. Well I just might look into adding the tub surround. It shouldnt be to hard right??

Have a question....please look:

As you can see in the picture, my walls in the tub area are the same kind of walls that are everywhere else in the camper. How do I clean these??? Just wondering about soap scum etc... Of course I will give it a good rinse after each shower and a cleaning after each trip. What cleaner would you suggest? http://inlinethumb36.webshots.com/34083/2738217240103470825S600x600Q85.jpg

RE: newbie black tank question

I'll give you our "dumping process" it has worked well for years and we have zero problems. - Go to dump station and hook up clear elbow and sewer hose to camper dump valve. **the clear elbow is great so you can "see" when the tanks are clean and empty** - Pull black dump handle - Pull gray dump handle - Wife inside camper now starts filling buckets of water from bath tub (we always make sure to leave enough water in our tank for this) and flushes clean water down toilet - Keep looking at clear elbow to see when the water is clean (from wife flushing into toilet) - Once water is clean (usually only two buckets into toilet), close black dump valve. - Wife then dumps one final bucket of water/pine sol mix into toilet. This is what stays in there until we use in next. Never any smell!!! Also, she usually keeps the water running in the tub so the gray tank gets rinsed too. We have been doing this same procedure for years and it works well. I will always make sure we have enough water in our tank to do this and if we don't, I'll fill it a bit prior to dumping. Thank you for putting it in steps for us. This weekend will be our first time doing the whole process.

RE: newbie black tank question

We always add about a gallon of water to black, and gray, tanks after dumping. Keeps seals from drying out, and any "deposit" left in tank from turning to concrete. In winter we add some antifreeze. After you do this do you put anything in with the water? I dont want the camper to smell.

newbie black tank question

Okay so after we are done camping for the weekend and we dump the black tank then the grey tank do we need to do anything else to the tank? I know you are supposto keep a little water in the toilet bowl but do we need to put a small amount of water in the black holding tank or anything?? Sorry to sound dumb but I wasn't sure if it would smell or anything in between camping trips. We did but th drop in thingys for smell and to break down toilet paper but from my undrstanding thse are for use while you are camping. A little help please :)

RE: Tornados at Middle Georgia Campgrounds

Even severe thunderstorms can be pretty scary. We bought a portable (AC with battery backup) weather radio that has all states and counties already preloaded. It is a quick operation to select the state and county you are camping in to get NOAA weather alerts so you can get to a place of safety. You may not avoid bad weather, but at least you can be warned in a timely manner. What kind & where did you get it? We got a weather radio at Wal-Mart. The last time we camped there were bad storms in the area and I turned it on and it worked. It really does make me feel better knowing that I have one to keep me updated on approaching storms.
